New Bags

Here are my latest fall creations (more to follow):

Emma's Quilt

Here's Emma's quilt - more Amy Butler scraps - perfect with her antique iron bed. Only 5 more to go!!

Ella's birthday

I tried the adorable raincoat pattern by Amy Butler and used the "Love" vinyl for the outside (with home decor fabric for the lining). It wasn't as difficult as I originally thought it would be and it is adorable. Here's hoping she likes it:

Time flies when it's summer in Vermont!!

Where did summer go? (Well, for me, it was getting the garden in, going off to Alaska for almost 3 weeks, then Colorado and New Mexico for 2 1/2 weeks, harvesting the garden, and now it's Labor Day!! Anyway, I tried a new style purse. Here it is:

Emma's Vacation Project

My granddaughter Emma's February vacation project - not much else she can do with her leg in a full cast and her sister off on a school trip to Washington, DC. This is a quilt she designed - not quite finished yet but I'm sure it will be by the end of vacation.

The Christmas Bags

I was so busy during the holidays, I didn't have a chance to make each of my daughters their special presents. SO......I made them one at a time after the holidays. They are made from a pattern by "The Creative Thimble, Professional Tote," and are huge hold everything totes, complete with a center zippered section that can hold files. They are large enough to hold a laptop too. Here is Marcy's bag made from Michael Miller's Flower Shower Clementine fabric.

It's quite a complicated pattern but the instructions are great and if you take your time, it will turn out fine (it takes a couple of days to make this). If I sold it, I'd charge over $100.

Ella's Outfit

This is my granddaughter Ella's new skirt and decorated shirt. She looks adorable. The fabric is Wendy Slotboom's Frolic. Love those prints of hers. I made another skirt and top from Wendy's Lily Pond fabric which I still have to photograph...later! Here it is!

The pattern is from Pink Fig Patterns, No. 4, The Girly Skirt. This pattern looks like it was made for her!

My Sewing Grands

These are my three granddaughters who went to sewing camp last summer and they LOVED it. They each made a quilt and 2 bags.

Sienna's Quilt

This is a quilt I made for my #1 granddaughter, Sienna. It has a variety of prints and colors and I backed it with polar fleece for a cozy cover. I promised to make all seven of my grandpeeps a quilt this year. One down and six to go.....

My beautiful Amy Butler scrap quilt

The beautiful quilt at the top was featured in a quilting magazine and because it called for very large pieces, it was fast and easy. I used up most of the scraps I had and actually only had to purchase a couple of extra yards to make this queen size coverlet.

I love this Amy Butler fabric called Daisy Chain and I have made many beautiful bags, totes, etc. from the various colors and prints. All of the colors seems to connect. I made pillow shams for the bed using plain navy with a strip of the print. I'll try to find the magazine I found the pattern in and post it.
